sass & bide  is one of Australian’s most loved fashion brands, recognized globally for modern, DISTINCT DESIGNS.  S&B is the namesake label of Sarah- Jane Clarke (sass) and Heidi Middleton (bide). A former accountant and advertising art director, they are an anomaly in an industry where fashion college or working as a design assistant is rite of passage.

The sense of free-spirited confidence and contradiction that defines their personal sense of style provided the inspiration for the initial denim collection & the incredibly successful ‘east village’ jean in 1999. Within two years the collection expanded into seasonal ready to wear and evolved from underground phenomena in Australia, to the runways of New York & London Fashion Weeks gaining international recognition. sass & bide is currently stocked in over 20 countries and available in premium boutiques and department stores worldwide.

In July 2005, the first sass & bide flagship boutique was opened in Padington, Sydney, Australia. It  now has 10 boutiques throughout Australia at the following locations ; Oxford St, Bondi Junction & Chats wood Chase in Sydney, James St in Brisbane, Chapel St, GPO, Westfield Doncaster, Bridge road & Chadstone in Melbourne and Rundal St in Adelaide. The heart and soul of the sass & bide aesthetic is defined by freedom and personal expression. The  brand personality is confident, free, spirited, creative, passionate and contradictory.

It  is more a way of being, rather than a label that is defined by age, race or culture. Our wearer celebrates the essence of life and all that it has to offer. She was born with an innate sense of style & an eye for beautiful design. She rejects mediocrity & is happiest when expressing her creativity through her style of dressing. Humor is also an integral part of her life & her way & is seen in her creative expression.

Designs are young, edgy, bold and contradictory with an emphasis on playful dresses, tops and skirts as well as our most-loved casual items such as tees and layering pieces.

Denim is our heart and consists of quality, directional denim, with an emphasis on detailing. SASS & BIDE denim captures a unique and vintage aesthetic.
